Hears and I have been talking about the upcoming show I will be performing at in Long Hanborough on 11th September, in an attempt to sort out travel arrangements.

One option is that a "group" of CoGers will be going mob-handed, meeting up at Reading train station because it is a straight trip from there to Hanborough, and (Hanborough) station is only about a mile from the show!

Obviously, Reading would be on Jermery's route.....who else is coming along?

Reply with suggestions for these arrangements and make them so!

I've decided not to hop the train from São Paulo, instead I shall pout and demand that photos be posted for my amusement!

It is planned that not just photos, but also VIDEOS will be posted - including one of Hears helping us with the performance!

I am sure you are suitably pleased to hear(s) that Hears will be part of the show where his physical size is most important. I shall be humiliating Hears demonstrating the great sword, a blade that is 5 feet in length!

Shocked

5 feet?

Sounds like you're compensating for something!

I am suddenly concerned that Hears might not be able to make it to Reading!

When I was at school, I was asked "what do you want to be when you grow up?"

I replied that "I should very much like to be 6 foot tall".

I am 5'11 1/2". This sums up my life.

I shall be travelling by trains - not one but three! If Hears is attending with Mumface and Dadface then perhaps I shall not introduce myself at the station, as I will most likely be going alone!

Some sort of code word must be devised!

View user profile
I shall be travelling to Reading straight from Aidantown. How CONVENIENT! The code work shall be Linda.

"Linda"? What a terribly boring codename!

I think you should have something more professional sounding, like sliding up to the person without looking at them and whispering "Dry Nappies?" and the correct response would be "Fuzzy Nipples Here".

That's how they do it in the Bond films you know... Red Face

It must be something "boring" so as to not arouse suspicion!

Fun fact: I was in the audience at the recording of that sketch! It took them at least 6 takes, I was sick of it by the end. Mad

Regarding the journey, I would be alone, it also pleases me that you plan to meet up somewhere that is very near to me!

What about...
"Psst.. We musn't forget the history."

To which the correct response is of course...

"Guacamole Central Command!"

People should check whether the show starts at noon or 1pm, and plan to arrive for the start. At this time, I do not know what time we will be doing the weapon demos (and Hears harassment) but there will be archery throughout!

I am pleased we are meeting somewhere of great convenience to get to. Is there a meeting time yet?

I shall monitor CNN, Reuters and BBC.com for any reports of archery/5 foot sword 'incidents'.

Be sure to get pics and video before they put up any Police lines and Forensics moves in (I've seen how they do these things on CSI...).

The event opens at either noon or 1pm, so plan accordingly! The station is apparently a VERY short distance from the venue!

You can rest assured that CoG will be first with the news!

I'd imagine it would all depend on train timetables and whether the event starts at 12 or 1..

It seems like Reading station is agreed then!

Because I am v. green and mega scaly at the moment, I have decided to find out what time the event actually starts!

The OFFICIAL website suggests that the event will open at 1pm, but special note of the following should be made:

ON YER BIKE!
A new event at the 2010 show. This year we will be opening the show with a parade of Decorated Scooters and Bikes (non motorised)
The parade will take place at 1.30pm on the 11th September so come and join in, young and old, families, individuals, there will be prizes -free to enter.

It also says the following:

As usual, there will be many attractions at the show including the Dog Show, Yarnton Band and pony rides. New this year will be weapons demonstrations by The Fellowship of the Ox, a group of historical enthusiasts who have come together to bring history to life in an exciting, humorous and entertaining way.

If we do not witness excitement, humour and entertainment, I'll want my money back! Speaking of which, I would like any charges explained first!

I do not believe there is an entry fee (apart from entering items into the competitions). We will be charging approximately £2 (or £2.50) for 5 shots with a long bow. The weapon demonstrations will be free!

Other people will be charging for their stuff I should imagine!

No freebies for the most wonderful population of The Crevice?!

1pm sounds most reasonable - I estimate the meet up time to be around 12 at Reading station then..

I may buy you a Krispy Kreme each!
