Oh yes!

This is the thread where you may post photos of your family, friends and pets!

I shall begin. IMMEDIATELY!

A few days ago, I became aware that the fish tank had sprung a leak. Long story short: new tank, mildly stressed fish! Here(s) they are in their lovely new home:

...And a close up of Flymo, upside down in his log!

And Sainsbury, clearly deep in thought:

This tank seems a lot smaller!

It is actually 10 litres bigger! The tank is taller than the old one, so Mr Spatula has much more room for his Agenda.

I remember you saying that it was actually bigger, that's why I was puzzled! I guess the height is to blame for my misjudgement!

Or perhaps the agenda is to blame - who knows?

There have been some new additions to the tank!

I recently purchased a small group of tetras, a mix of glowlight (orange ones) and neons (blue and red). Unfortunately, all but one died from different reasons, and I was forced to put the remaining chap in a small tank within the main tank so that he would be safe. The problem is tetras only really thrive in a shoal, so he was clearly stressed and unlikely to do well. So today I decided that he really needed company and popped down to the shop to pick up another tetra!

Here(s) are the new tank mates! The original chap has been named after Blarg while his new companion is called J.

They also had a skate for sale, but he was £199.00!!!!

They look happy.

You should have a wedding ceremony for them!

We have no pets (and we don't count the housekeeper as one either, although she makes bigger messes than any pet I've ever owned...), but we wandered into an aquarium store a couple blocks away recently. They had tons of wonderful fish, most fresh water types like tetras which are native here and are quite cheap in price, it was the Koi and salt water fish that can really set you back a pretty penny. Haven't quite made the decision to get a tank as we've also been pondering getting a dog. Would love to have a cat but we live on the 16th floor and have no plans to screen the windows and there are decorative ledges all over the exterior here, I don't relish the thought of some cat stuck on a small ledge 16 floors up on the other end of the building. Bad enough to have to walk the dog several times a day, but I imagine it's a great way to mingle with the homeless people in the park across the street.
