Notice I got halfway through my first coat before I decided to change the paint scheme. ITs not done, I am waiting untill I finish the assembly of my Baneblade to paint it. I want to paint them both with a red tiger scheme. They are both being used with the blood angels

I hope you wear goggles when you're around that, RedCleft.

That white needs another coat before you add any solid colours to it.

Or indeed, two more layers.

Do you water down the paint slightly? I find that helps to achieve even coverage when I paint stuff. Just dip the brush in water before dipping it into the paint, that would probably be enough.

Also, it looks like you are perhaps using a bit too much paint (particularly on the gold) for small areas - I know those things really aren't that big, so often minimal amounts of paint are required!

You're going to lose detail slapping it on thick, spraying it black, then slapping more paint on there. That stuff does build up, y'know. tongue

Yes unfortunatly. However the only painted parts are the hatch on front sheild. The is no paint on the rest of it. So I shouldn't lose too much.

I take it you're using GW paints? You should always add a small amount of water to them so that you get a much nicer, smoother finish.

I would follow that thread with interest!
I recently cracked open my old box of models and paints, found a suitably complete brush and got to work reliving my childhood.
If anyone is interested, I could show some various projects I've got into - before selling off most of my old collection, I have to paint them!

That sounds like a great idea. I think I will start doing that when I get my baneblade back from the shop. One of the parts was missing and they are trying to rig up an improvised peice. When thats done I will start!

Anyway, as promised, some better models.

You should turn macro mode on before taking the photographs, they're a bit blurry.

I believe it would be a most mighty idea if we shared our miniature paintings in one thread! Here's a few that I painted for Wargames Foundry (and can be seen on their site as well as in Wargames Illustrated). They had a very strict code of what they wanted, and the models usually looked a little odd, with black eyes and limited amounts of highlighting.....plus, the sculpting isn't that great on some of them!
