One of my all-time favorites from the early 1980's...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CaMUfxVJVQ

Very nice...

In the northern part of Brazil they have a campaign to save water. This is a commerical made by the government encouraging people to "pee in the shower" (xixi no banho)...this version has Englsih subtitles...

This one was filmed two blocks from where I live near the Teatro Municipal. The funny thing (besides the end of the commercial, it that it's for an Israeli company - they are speaking Hebrew...

Here:

It's spoken in Dutch but you should get the essence of it.

It's part of a complete series starting with that one, and all of them are equally inventive and funny.

Second was the walk-ing fridge (my personal favorite:

Third was the 'Men with talent':

and fourth was the 'The Tube':

Now they want to prohibit commercials for beer in Holland, but they are the only funny ones we have left. :/

If I like beer? No, but the commercials are hilarious.

My shoes tremble with delight!! I like those. They had a beer commercial they filmed with Paris Hilton in Rio they banned here because it was 'insulting to women', which is hilarious when one sees all the 'jiggle' that's regularly shown on TV here...

I finally found this on YouTube without people having to go through the Smirnoff site and be over 21!

Smirnoff Vodka filmed a commercial on the roof of our condo building were I live in 2009. They also used still from this commercial as the background image on their world-wide site (I don't know if they have changed it yet), but the background you see is the same as what I see out my windows. Only difference is that the pool is on the 25th floor, our condo is on the 16th.

There is a second, slightly longer version that shows the escalator that serves the mezzanine businesses below us, one of the vehicle elevators in the basement garage, and even the elevator that serves our vertical section of the building!

This morning we woke up to cries of "ACTION!"...and for once it wasn't the newlyweds in the next apartment!

They were filming a commercial/TV show/film across the street from us. The crew was fairly small so I assume it wasn't a film, part of it involved three actors driving slowly past in a red convertible while talking, so may not be a commercial either. They also filmed actors walking down the sidewalk and some scenes in the park. I attempted to offer my considerable thespian skills but they said they already had plenty of 'parked cars' lining the street, whatever THAT meant.

The batteries were dead on the good camera, so I used the old one so the photos are grainy from it's zoom...

The red convertible...a camera was mounted to the front plus they had a track laid for a rolling camera to shoot from the side later. They just slowly drove back and forth, over and over. Stopping in between takes for some woman to come out and comb their hair and powder their noses.

Everything seems to be computerized, even the director sat at this table watching a monitor while bellowing directions...

Here a young lady crosses the sidewalk, stops, waits until 'CUT!', then returns to her original spot and does it again. There were several other young ladies and gentlemen doing the exact same thing.

I certainly could do that! I'm damn near a highly paid professional if I was ever to be paid!

They are still shooting but further back into the trees. I shall promptly report if Angelina or Brad show up! In the meantime I shall take a large sheet and paint my telephonic communications device number on it so they are aware that I'm available...I'd even work scale!

Oooo, I wonder what they might be filming. I'm wondering whether, using clues from the surrounding and people, we can all work out what it might all be for.

If they are filming for a Brazilian soap opera (novela) that could include anything from drug lords to clones to ET's to werewolves and vampires!

They continued filming this afternoon at a small 'banca' (a newspaper/magazine stand) down in the park, so my guess is a TV show or novela. Every network offers novels here - so that's five major broadcast networks plus MTV Brasil and other cable networks that also have local shows plus even HBO which films shows just for this audience. And the networks generally show a different novela at 5, 7 and 9 pm every single night of the week, and a novela can run from six weeks to two years or more in length, so that's a lot of filming!

They just finished one novella that was supposed to take place in a residencial tower here in downtown. The real building is an office tower I can see out my window. The interiors were all built in Rio as were exterior sets meant to look like blocks of downtown São Paulo with famous spots like the Galleria do Rock shopping...they were almost identical, just scaled down a bit and a hundred times cleaner - no garbage or porn theatres in sight! Then the high rises were all green-screened in later.
